Supporting our Child Care Sector

Metro United Way works to ensure that the Greater Louisville region has thriving kids, strong households, and an equitable community. We invite you to join us for our 7th annual Day(s) of Action focusing on our local child care sector which as we know, is in crisis. We know that a healthy child care sector has positive benefits on children, families, our community, and local economy.

Metro United Way’s Day of Action launched in 2018 to harness the spirit and power of volunteers, bringing corporate teams together to take on some of our community’s toughest challenges. Over the last six years, 2000 volunteers from 130 companies have completed 150 projects in seven counties in two states. Watch a recap of our 2024 Day(s) of Action to the left!

Thank you for joining us to build a brighter path forward! Change begins today.

Get involved. Give back. Take action.

This year, we are offering three ways for you to get involved and make a difference:

  • GIVE

Diaper need in our community is at an all-time high! Help us meet the need by hosting a diaper collection drive at your workplace or purchasing diapers through MUW’s website from August 9th – September 23rd. We have a bold goal of collecting 20,000 diapers during Day of Action!

  • ADVOCATE

Sign the Champions for Child Care Pledge in support of policy change that provides accessible, affordable, and high-quality child care for every child in our community. You can sign the pledge as an individual or company.

    Sign the Pledge!
  • VOLUNTEER

Gather your colleagues and register to volunteer at one of our in-person, hands-on volunteer projects Wednesday, September 25th through Friday, September 27th. We will have a variety of projects supporting local child care centers.
